Abstract

The Islamic theological institution was expected later to be quite capable of serving as a bridge between the old world and the new and of working out a new system of thought that could be representative of the best in modern Islamic sciences. According to this statement, the needs of Islamic studies were essentially an evolutionary and progressive programme of instruction which side by side with preserving its spirit, purpose and the fundamental science, should also keep steadily changing and developing. In this case, the Islamic theology should be accepted in the large part of the modern Muslim community. Therefor, the theology of natural law (Sunnatullah)--as for me--is one of the terms in the Islamic theologies which whould be suitable and acceptable to the modern Muslim community.

Abstract

Selama ini, konsep bidah (inovasi) lebih dipahami melalui pendekatan literal dan hermeneutika hadits. Padahal, Islam telah menetapkan Alquran sebagai sumber utama dari ajaran-ajarannya. Karena itu, tulisan ini ingin menawarkan perspektif Alquran tentang konsep yang masih kontroversial tersebut. Pertama, kajian atau pendekatan literal tetap akan dilakukan sebagai pengantar pemahaman awal. Kedua, "ayat-ayat bidah" akan dielaborasi dari perspektid tafsir. Ketiga, ayat-ayat lain yang "terkait" dengan konsep itu akan memperkaya pembahasan. Semua itu mengantarkan pembaca kepada sebuah konsep Alquran tentang bidah.

Abstract

Civic education is a subject need to develop in higher education level like university. The benefit of this subject is more if it is supporterd by intellectual tradition of student. As a middle class society, students have a big potential to start making basic social changes. The successs of these changes will eventually make structure of state and society better. By this, the society will become an effective social control of the government as a basic fondation of civil society.

Abstract

This study attempts to elaborate humans activities (afal al-ibad) in the perspective of theology of middle way. It specially discusses Asarite point of view in that matter. The writer tries to relate Asyaris background of life to the event of his conversion into middle way and left his teachers circle (then school). The writer finally comes to a conclusion that it is by this method this school of theology succeeded in saving Islam from Hellenism.
